Jim Reczek - Senior Project Manager

Mr. Reczek is a Senior Project Manager with over 25 years of commercial construction experience. In addition, He has served as a Regional Construction Project Manager for Ryder Truck, managing all facility related repairs, renovations and additions for an 8 state region. He has functioned as estimator, project engineer, project superintendent, as well as a facilities manager during his career.

Upon graduation from University of Illinois Chicago, Jim functioned as a draftsman for architectural and engineering firms. During that time some of the projects include:

  • Preparing plans for process facilities – Upjohn Laboratories – Kalamazoo, MI.
  • Structural drawings for precast building components - Marshfield Clinic Parking Garage - Marshfield, WI.
  • Structural components for California Department of Corrections – Vacaville Prison
  • Structural exterior building panels – various hi-rise structures San Francisco Bay Area

Jim worked for Peck/Jones Construction Company as part of a $500M renovation/expansion at O’Hare Airport. Some of the activities he was associated with include:

  • Providing logistic plans to maintain operations and construction traffic during construction.
  • Preparing plans for temporary facilities / boarding gates during construction.
  • Technical coordination of mechanical and conveying systems as they related to the construction of an underground baggage sorting facility.

Jim also worked for several well established commercial general contractors in the Chicago metro area. Here are some of the projects he was involved with while at those construction firms.

George Sollitt Construction
  • Assisted Project Manager on large $15M relocation of Rust-Oleum Corporate Facilities from Evanston, IL. to Pleasant Prairie, WI.
  • Coordinate moving of process equipment with millwrights and MEP contractors.
  • Handle submittals from contractors and coordinated approvals with architect/engineer for various renovations at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL.
Pepper Construction Company
  • Assisted Sr. Project Manager on large $17M renovation at N. Riverside Mall (IL) which included new mall entrances, new entry arches, installation of common area skylights as well as new flooring and finishes.
  • Coordination of escalator and stairway enclosures from parking deck to mall.
  • Completed $2.4M renovation of exterior entrances and courtyard areas for Honey Creek Mall in Terre Haute, IN.
The Milord Company
  • Stationed on site at Chicago Union Station, submitted proposals for various building projects and repairs.
  • Coordinated subcontractors and suppliers for major platform rebuilding projects for Amtrak and Metra at Union Station.
Ulbrich and Associates
  • Managed ADA compliance projects (washrooms, egress issues) for several suburban Chicago Post Offices.
  • Functioned as project superintendent for large office build-out for Dow Chemical in Schaumburg, IL.
  • Managed conversion of multi-purpose room into individual classrooms for Maryville Academy located in Des Plaines, IL.
The Missner Group
  • Managed construction of $1.5M ground up new facilities for First American Bank. Glenview and Niles, IL locations.
  • Managed construction of several build to suit office/warehouse facilities ranging in size from 30,000SF single tenant to 150,000SF multi-tenant projects located in various industrial parks in suburban Chicago Area.
  • Managed construction of new $5.8M- 80,000SF full service auto dealership- Autohaus on Edens, Glencoe, IL.
Horcher Construction Company
  • Provided project supervision for office 8,000SF renovations for Wells Fargo in Barrington, IL.
  • Managed 6,000SF office build as well as 12,000SF light assembly and adjacent warehouse space for AVI Systems Arlington Heights, IL.
  • Project Manager/Superintendent for new 3,000SF ground up Hilltop Animal Hospital in Palatine, IL.
  • Managed social room addition and new ADA compliant washrooms for St. Phillip the Apostle Parish in Northfield, IL.
  • Thru business development efforts, successful in obtaining “make ready” projects for new leasing for commercial spaces for First Industrial Realty Corporation.
